Session Fees & Getting Started

Savannah sees people ages 15+ and is Telehealth only in NC.

Let’s talk about something that matters a lot: YOU. You might be going through a rough patch, feeling a bit lost, or maybe there’s this big ol’ goal you’re trying to reach but just can’t seem to get there. Whatever it is, I’m here to help you navigate through those choppy waters.

“Understanding yourself can be a complex journey, but you don’t have to do it alone. Let’s take this journey together.”

What to Expect in a Session

During our sessions together, I want you to feel completely comfortable being the true you!

This is your space, free of any judgment, where you can openly share and process all of life’s challenges, whether they’re from your past, happening right now, or worries you have for the future.

My goal is for you to leave each session feeling heard, understood, and a step closer to where you want to be emotionally. It’s okay if things seem overwhelming at first; I’m here to guide and support you through every step of the journey.

My Therapy Approach

My style is all about you! I hold a person-centered philosophy at heart, believing strongly that one size doesn’t fit all when it comes to therapy. Whether you’re grappling with anxiety, depression, or trauma, we’ll work together to find the tools that best support your journey towards healing and self-discovery.

In our sessions, think of us as a team. We’ll use some super effective approaches like:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):

We’ll work on identifying and changing negative thought patterns that may be affecting your emotions and behavior. It’s like rewiring your brain to have a more positive outlook!

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT):

This approach helps if you’re feeling overwhelmed by intense emotions. We’ll learn skills to better manage these emotions, improve relationships, and live more mindfully.

Motivational Interviewing:

Sometimes, making changes can be tough. I use motivational interviewing to help boost your motivation and commitment to change, focusing on your own reasons for wanting to make these changes.

Solution-Focused Therapy:

This method is all about focusing on what you want to achieve/future goals rather than focusing on the problem. We’ll identify your goals and work on steps to reach them, fostering a sense of hope and positivity.

Strengths Based Therapy:

Here, we’ll discover and build on your existing strengths and resources. By highlighting what’s already working well, we can address your challenges more effectively.

Trauma-Informed Approach:

Understanding that past trauma can affect your current mental health is key. We’ll create a safe space where you can explore these experiences at your own pace. I also specialize in Trauma-Focused CBT to specifically address trauma-related issues.By the end of 2024, I’m excited to add EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to our toolkit, a powerful therapy for overcoming trauma and anxiety.

“Focus on the step in front of you, not the whole staircase.”  Unknown

My Professional Background

After completing my studies at East Carolina University, where I earned both my bachelor’s degree in Family and Community Services and a Master of Social Work, I jumped straight into the world of community mental health.

Throughout my years as a therapist, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work with diverse people across different stages of their lives – teens who are navigating the tricky waters of adolescence, young adults facing the pressures of early independence, and adults who are seeking a deeper understanding or a change in their lives.

The challenges that come with anxiety and stress are more common than ever, and I’ve devoted a lot of time to helping individuals find their calm and regain control.

Dealing with depression is another area I’m deeply passionate about. I strive to offer a beacon of hope and practical steps for those who feel overwhelmed by darkness.

I’ve also connected with many college students, assisting them in overcoming the unique challenges that college life presents, from academic stress to the complex social landscape.

Additionally, life doesn’t stand still for any of us; transitions – whether they are moving to a new city, starting a new job, or entering or leaving a relationship – are times when having supportive guidance can make all the difference.

For those who have experienced trauma, I offer a safe, nurturing space to heal and find peace.

Therapy is a journey that’s never the same for any two people, and that’s what makes my job so fascinating and fulfilling.

About Me

I’ve made my home in Raleigh, North Carolina, where when I’m not working, you’ll find me indulging in my love for baking and decorating cakes. I’m always on the lookout for new restaurants to try; I believe food is a wonderful way to experience different cultures and connect with others.

Music – Taylor Swift’s music has a special place in my life! Traveling is another passion of mine; it broadens my perspectives and refreshes my soul.

Lastly, I cannot stress enough how important it is for me to spend time in nature. Being outdoors, whether it’s a walk in the park or a hike through the woods, is essential for maintaining my mental health. I bring this holistic perspective to my therapy sessions, encouraging my clients to find what brings them peace and joy in their own lives.
