Therapy for Stress, Life Changes, and Health Challenges
When life doesn’t go as planned, it can feel like everything’s on your shoulders.
Maybe you’re dealing with a health issue, feeling burned out from caregiving or work, or struggling with changes you didn’t choose.
Maybe you’re carrying stress from military service or trying to support someone who is.
Therapy can give you the space to take a breath,
sort through what’s been weighing on you,
and figure out what’s next.
Meet Rhonda
Hi, I’m Rhonda Dunning, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. For nearly 20 years, I’ve worked with adults facing the kinds of challenges that shake up life – chronic illness, cancer recovery, anxiety & depression, military transitions, and the aftermath of big changes.
I’ve lived through a lot of those moments myself. As a cancer survivor and single mom, I know what it’s like to be running on empty, to not know what comes next, and to have to keep moving anyway.
Those experiences influence how I show up in this work: steady, practical, and focused on helping you feel more in control of your life again.
Outside of sessions, I recharge by spending time with my daughters, walking my dog, and soaking in the quiet of the mountains or the coast. I believe in practicing what I encourage – making room for rest, connection, and what matters most.
“Life can be overwhelming, but I firmly believe that happiness and fulfillment are within reach for everyone.”
How I Help
You don’t need to come in with a plan. We’ll talk about what’s going on in your world, what’s been hard, and what might actually help.
Our work is about helping you feel more equipped to handle what’s in front of you, whether it’s something new or something that’s been building for a while.
I primarily use:
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
- Encourages you to shift your focus from what’s wrong to what’s possible, building on your strengths to create meaningful change.
- Talk therapy
- Having the right conversation with the right person can be a powerful tool for transformation.
“My goal is to make this feel like a real conversation – where you can be honest, and we take it from there.”
What We Can Work On Together
You might be feeling stuck, stretched thin, or like things haven’t felt normal in a long time. Together, we’ll work toward getting some steadiness back – more clarity in your day, fewer moments of burnout, and better ways to cope when life feels uncertain.
In our sessions, we can focus on:
- Rebuilding identity and confidence after a major life shift
- Working through the emotional strain of military service or transitions
- Reducing stress and finding balance when responsibilities feel nonstop
- Managing the day-to-day impact of chronic illness or recovering from cancer
- Letting go of unrealistic pressure and making space for what actually supports you
If any of this resonates, I invite you to reach out and see if working together feels like a good fit.
